ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Hope Behind Bars program is a research and extension initiative of the Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) that aims to promote rehabilitation and reintegration of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) through education, skills training, and psychosocial support.
The program embodies MSU-IIT’s commitment to inclusive education and social transformation by providing access to literacy development, livelihood skills, and digital literacy programs within correctional facilities. It bridges academic research and community service to create a meaningful impact that restores dignity, builds confidence, and prepares PDLs for reintegration into society.
